Fuschia Honey Shower Quilled Flower & Bird

I love fuchsia so I have tried to create them to look like the real thing in this quilled 3d flower/picture. I have used printer paper and used quilled petals for the flower. the stamens are created from strips as well.

I drew the bird myself and I have tried out a blending technique in order to get the different shades of green and the spotty effect on the chest. For the tail, I have done a grass fold ( check tutorials) and used two shades of green combines.

Quilled Waterfall Landscape Picture Art

So here is the quilled landscape picture I started when I wrote the tutorial on Quilling a Landscape. I think it came out pretty well. I wanted to get the waterfall to show the flow of the water element, so I made long, grass basic shapes but stuck it on both sides and encircled it for stability.

This time for the grass I slightly varied the shape. Check the tutorial page for the waterfall's basic shape and the grass's shape. I used my regular grass basic for the interior grass but for the edges, I varied the shape slightly as shown on the tutorial page.

I have elevated the foreground elements using pegs ( tight coils). Flowers are quilled 3d siince I like 3d flowers.

My First Quilled Hollow Egg

I've seen many beautiful quilled eggs, but most of them are made by pasting quills on an egg shell or other egg shaped item. I wanted to try the real thing and quill a hollow egg and here it is.

 I must say that it was quite difficult to quill since it kept slipping off and getting the top to curve was a herculean task , but in the end I managed to get it to look like an egg and it is free standing too!! There is a lot of room for improvement.  I am not really inspired by eggs, but I will try quilling another one soon to see if I can perfect the shape.

How to

• First I had to cover the egg shell with a non-stick surface so I used scotch tape which is a bad choice.The surface should be slightly sticky so that the quills don't keep falling off  from the tricky spots.
•  I quilled the eggs in two halves and then pasted them hollow, so the two parts need to fit snugly in the middle.
• I quilled the egg top down, bottom up and then stuck the two halves together.
• Make sure each quill is well stuck to the top layer before you proceed with the next, If done properly it will come out perfectly.
• paste the quills onto each other using a toothpick to apply the glue.
• slightly paste a couple to the non stick surface at the curvature point to keep it on the mold
• I found slightly loosened coils stick to each other better than pegs.

Quilled Tiger

                  Am acest desen in proiect de mai multe luni, dar nu am avut timp sa ma apuc de el. Am vazut pe internet atat de multi tigri lucrati in quilling incat nu m-am putut abtine sa nu fac si eu unul, macar sa-mi demonstrez ca pot. Lucrarea nu este inramata inca deoarece vreau sa il pun intr-o rama de lemn. Tigrul are dimensiunile de 19cm x 19 cm . Am lucrat la el 2 zile. Sper sa va placa.

Smiley Flower for Mom - Quilled Flower & Butterfly

I thought I'd quill something that reminded me of my mom, who is now, long gone, for Mother's day. This picture, I thought, said it all. One who would give anything to her children with a smile on her face.The one who fed us butterflies with her nectar. Well, my mom is a beautiful flower in heaven and I loved her. Don't ever remember her saying she's sick and taking a break until the day the Good Lord called her to rest.

How To
 I quilled the butterfly using a printout of one. Check out my Tutorial Page on how to quill a landscape to get an idea of how to do the wings. The basic shape for the wings are simple loose coils and yellow squares. Once the wings are done make a 3d tube by pushing out a peg. Check out Quick Tips on how to get a bell shape instead of a cone. make the head and abdomen of the butterfly and stick them together. then stick the antenna and the wings.
The petals are husked using light & darker blue. For the stem I just took some paper and rolled it like a tube. The leaves are just folded leaves.
I will do a tute on how I made the bud in my next post.

Felicitari pentru barbati

      De regula , felicitarile pentru barbati se gasesc mai greu pe piata. Poate pentru ca lor le place sa primeasca mai repede o sticla de bere decat o felicitare nu? Oricum, eu am facut cateva pentru cei care mai daruiesc pe langa un cadou si o felicitare handmade. Cum eu nu am avut stampile , am ales sa le desenez si sa le colorez ca la gradinita :)). Culori obisnuite , nimic special, doar o tenta de glitter  pe unele dintre ele. Sper sa va placa.
    Va doresc tuturor un weekend cat mai placut!

Tutorial Brosa Insecta

Am fost rugata de multe persoane sa fac un tutorial pentru aceasta bijuterie din hartie.Asa ca m-am conformat si sper sa va fie de folos. Spor la creatie!


Pentru confectionarea  unei brose din hartie sub forma de musculita aveti nevoie de:
1. Ac de quilling
2. Benzi de quilling de 3 mm  x  25 cm   ( 17 benzi negre si 2 benzi verzi )
3. Lipici
4. Glitter
5. Ac pentru brosa
6. Pietre  colorate, cu model  sau simple.

Va sfatuiesc sa incepeti cu ochii, deoarece au nevoie de putin timp ca sa se usuce. Pentru ochi aveti nevoie de 2 benzi verzi si  2 benzi negre. Faceti 2 cercuri stranse verzi, peste care adaugati cate o jumatate dintr-o banda neagra. Presati cercurile cu degetul pentru a le da o forma ovala .
Lipiti cele 2  ovale intre ele apoi incercuiti-le cu o banda neagra avand grija sa o lipiti  strans dupa forma ochilor.

Cu un bat rotund la capat  sau cu un pix, presati ovalele verzi spre exterior dandu-le o forma bombata. Intoarceti ochii si avand grija sa nu-i presati dati cu lipici in interior pentru a se pastra forma. Lasati deoparte pana se usuca complet, altfel se pot deforma .
 Incercati sa-i apropiati putin la unul din capete, acolo unde va fi lipita gura.

Luati o jumatate de banda de hartie neagra si rulati-o intr-un cerc nu prea larg. Formati cu degetele un romb, mai lat la unul din capete. Acesta va fi gura mustei.
Lipiti rombul intre ochi, si presati usor pana adera complet.

            

Cat timp se usuca ochii, va puteti apuca de corp.
Pentru acesta aveti nevoie de  4 benzi de hartie neagra. Luati 2 benzi de hartie, potriviti-le cap la cap si cu ajutorul acului de quilling rulati hartia prin tehnica Beehave . Luati  o banda negra indoiti-o pe jumatate si rulati-o prin aceeasi tehnica.
Eu am alt stil de a forma modele  prin aceasta tehnica. Luati cele 2 benzi rulate si formati un cerc invartind hartia  in forma de melc, fara a apasa prea tare.
Luati ultima banda de hartie negra si incercuiti modelul format lipind din cand in cand banda de hartie de model . Modelati prin presare usoara pentru a forma un oval. Eu am masurat cercul format cu piatra pe care o voi folosi astfel sa nu iasa mai mare sau mai mic. O puteti face foarte usor doar tragand de banda de hartie usor in jurul modelului sau largind treptat pana ajunge la dimensiunea dorita.
Cand v-ati decis la marime continuati sa lipiti banda de hartie pana la capat.

Pentru continuarea corpului aveti nevoie de 3 benzi de hartie negra. 2 dintre ele rulati-le sub forma de lacrima si prin presare dati-le o forma putin concava pentru a se putea lipi usor pe laturile corpului.
A 3-a banda rulati-o sub forma de cerc si dati forma de semiluna, dar mai plina. Aceasta vine lipita sub ochii mustei pentru a-i sustine.

Lipiti cele 3 forme de corp apoi alegeti piatra dorita si lipiti-o si pe aceasta deasupra.

Pentru picioarele mustei aveti nevoie de 6 benzi de hartie negra.
Rulati hartia cerc lejer, dati forma de lacrima  curbati-o usor si presati foarte tare pentru a subtia hartia cat mai mult. Formati picioarele prin indoire , ca in imaginea de mai jos, la dimensiunea aleasa de voi. Eu le-am facut din ochi fara sa le masor.

Lipiti ochii peste semiluna  din dreptul capului , in asa fel incat sa cuprinda si o portiune din piatra. Intoarceti corpul mustei cu piatra in jos si lipiti picioare. Pentru a fixa acul cat mai bine , luati o banda de hartie negra rulati-o , formati un cerc lejer apoi dati forma de ochi presat la ambele capete egal.
Lipiti ochiul format intre picioarele mustei ca in imaginea de mai jos.

Lipiti acul  de brosa exact pe ochiul dintre picioarele mustei, adaugand lipici si peste suport pentru a se fixa cat mai bine. Eu am mai pus putin lipici si peste piciorusele mustei. Lipiciul devine incolor dupa uscare asa ca puteti folosi cu incredere , insa nu peste masura ca sa nu se vada prea grosolan dupa ce se usuca complet. Lasati sa se usuce bine si incercati sa nu o miscati prea mult sa nu alunece picioarele sau acul .

Cand s-a uscat complet incepeti sa adaugati ultimele detalii.
Colorati ochii mustei cu Glitter Glue Irizant sau alt glitter, pentru a-I evidentia.




Puteti lasa corpul la culoarea hartiei sau ii puteti da o forma de antic  folosind o vopsea acrilica metalica.
Eu am folosit Mettalic Antique Gold, deoarece  dau bijuteriilor un aer de vintange, si nu par lucrate din hartie . Puteti deasemeni  sa va jucati cu aripile, sa atasati 1 pereche sau 2 de aripi mustei si sa nu-I mai puneti picioare, doar acul de brosa.
Aripile le puteti face  prin aceeasi tehnica folosita la corp dar sa folositi doar 2 benzi de hartie si sa strangeti mai mult cercul. Culoarea lor este desigur la alegerea voastra.







Puteti foarte bine sa transformati brosa in colier. Puteti lasa si acul de brosa, astfel putand fi folosita in ambele moduri.









Sper ca am fost destul de explicita si ati inteles toti pasii.
