                Imi cer scuze, stiu ca postez mai tarziu cu o zi, insa sunt foarte racita. N-am mai racit de ani de zile , aproape ca am uitat cum e. Ma mir cum am putut raci, nu ies din casa nu iau contact cu persoane straine, hmm cine stie.. In fine, aveam 2 lucrari pentru voi cu ocazia zilei indragostitilor, imi pare rau ca nu le-am putut termina pe amandoua. Promit sa termin si a doua lucrare cum ma pun pe picioare.
               Lucrarea de mai jos nu e in faza finala , mai trebuie inramata, sper sa va placa si asa.
               Sper ca ati a avut o zi a indragostitilor minunata!

Happy Valentine Quilling - Quilled Walt Disney Cartoon 101 Dalmations

Happy Valentines Day to all. To celebrate, a quilled picture from Walt Disney's cartoon, 101 Dalmation, quilled landscape style using basic shapes and graphic outline. I have used pink and blue for the collars instead of the red and blue as I wanted a red heart as the background.

I have quilled the eyes similar to what I did for "A Lion Share of Love", which is another adorable quilled cartoon.

The heart is created on photoshop as the cartoon will go into a box frame and I don't intend to put the heart. In my opinion, the heart backing is better for a card rather than a framed picture.

It took me 3 A4 sheets  and  a lot of quilling as I have used small basic shapes (3" lengths). However, these are getting much easier for me to quill once the basic shapes are done. I now make all the basic shapes varying the sizes slightly and then do the gluing. That way I find I can work much faster as I make the basic shapes while watching TV. So it is not as much a strain as it used to be.

Valentines Day Quilling - Valentine Moon Gazers

Valentines Day is upon us and I thought I'd chip in with this quilled landscape of kids gazing at the moon.
I have combined beehive quilling and silhouette paper cut for this quilled picture.

Somehow I find it more satisfying to relate kids to love as it brings out the innocence of true love in this materialistic world. I am sort of a spiritual dreamer and love everything that is pure and innocent. I had previously done a couple of Valentines day quilling with Kiddy Valentine and Butterfly Heart.

I have done this piece in 3 dimension as it has got depth through layering.

As you can see the background is quilled using beehive technique with color blending. And the grass is done using graphic quilling,  my style, as in the cases of Thumper and Bamby.

Reusing with Quilling

Who hit the nail right on the head!!
in guessing how it was made.

It is simple, short loop in the middle, Left and Right long loops, left and right short loops ( very similar to Butterfly Wing Leaf) using a single strip and wrap  around the petal and glue.

Make 2 small loops and wrap around using red strip. Make it smaller than the middle white loop. Insert it into the mid white loop with a tad of glue at the bottom.

But remember I am a beehive fanatic?? I just made a beehive quilled  1.5 mm strip and then cut each sub-coil separate. When cut, 2 ends  will open up in all but the first sub-coil as shown above. I glued one end  to a stem which I made as per my tutorial. Took me just 10 minutes to make them.

Quilled DImensional Flower Frame - Flower Shower

This quilled frame has several types of quilled flowers and quilled leaves. The flowers are three dimensional as usual. I have combine different quilling techniques to create this piece.

I have adopted a new technique to assemble the red tubular flowers so they are not glued around the mouth of the quilled 3d cone. This way it was easier to shape them.

The orange trailing flowers  are the technique I created for Abstract Lotus. The tutorial is here. Notice the difference when large and small comb is used.

The red and white flowers are made using looping technique .  I encourage you to guess how it is done as  the quickest way to learning is for you to guess.

While you're  at it , try and guess how the white veronica was done as well..

The leaves are straight forward. Only difference is I have used different greens which make a big difference to their appearance.
