Start your garden!

    Din nou ghivece cu floricele colorate, diferite tehnici de rulare , la unele am folosit perforatorul cu model, bineinteles cumparat de la Casa Retro. Magazinul acesta micut e precum sacul lui Mos Craciun. Gasesti de toate. Au o gama atat de variata de produse  hobby craft ca-mi vine sa cumpar tot ce au pe stoc. Dar dupa cum stiti astia la Banca pazesc banii , asa ca  sufletu'. Oricum n-am mai vazut o hartie de 100 de lei de ceva timp, tot albastra e?? Aha.. banuiam eu.

          Deci, cum spuneam, am indragit mult aceste ghivece  in miniatura si cum martie vine in pas alergator m-am gandit ca nu strica sa reinnoiesc putin stocul . Sunt usor de facut dar destul de migaloase pentru cine nu are rabdare. Oricm daca doriti sa lucrati  Quilling, va sfatuiesc sa va innarmati cu multa rabdare .... si o pereche de ochelari.

Flori in miniatura

        Ma intreb daca se putea lucra quilling cu papirusul,  ceeeee?? nu e  tot hartie?? antica dar hartiee.. 

Mi-i si imaginez pe egipteni cu 2000 de ani in urma prin piete... hai sa-ti dau martisoru' neamule, papirus calitatea prima, sa-l dai la frumusica lu mataa sa si -l agate da tunica... E hai, lasand gluma deoparte, e o minunatie hartia asta. E si buna la gust... in caz de diaree e super... in celalat caz... nu v-as sfatui ca n-o mai scoate nici dulcolaxul..

EE nu , nu, acum  gata cu glumaaaaa! Din hartie se fac minunatii! Priviti!  Fetitelor intre 5 si 7 ani o sa le placa la nebunie, caci le pot folosi in casa papusilor.  Celor mari, o sa le placa deasemeni, caci le pot transforma in martisoare. Ii impacam si pe cei mici si pe cei mari.  Super nu???

Date Night #6 and #7

Last week we went out to Olive Garden and to Michaels so I could do some craft shopping sans kid. (C's date idea for me)

Last night we watched Star Trek and had popcorn on our living room floor :)  It was nice to get some cuddle time.  (My date idea for C... must admit I liked Star Trek!)

I'm loving our date nights!!!!!

Felicitari, asa ca la inceput..

Primele felicitari, n-au iesit ele opere de arta, dar eu sunt mandra de ele. Am folosit carton sidefat de 230 g si primele mele ustensile ajutatoare , foarfecele cu model., ale naibii ce scumpe sunt!

Flori de primavara

         Flori de primavara, variate, colorate si ceea ce suna cel mai frumos..... din hartie.

Cine si-ar fi inchipuit ca acele fasiute de hartie taiate la .. fiti atenti aici.. 2 mm latime , pot sa devina o adevarata gradina. Cu cat lucram mai mult cu atat sporea si dorinta de face altceva si altceva si altceva....

Toate imi erau dragi, nu stiam ce-mi place mai mult. Am gasit si modelul de rama de carton, o idee foarte utila   luata de la Inna's  Creations, thank you Inna, care mergea perfect cu florile mele.

Count your Blessings Tuesday #24

Today I am grateful for:

1.  A boy and his dog...

2. A dedicated father and husband


3.  Time with friends outside of that yucky place we call work


4.  All this white stuff finally starting to melt... even if it's making stuff muddy


5.  Plane tickets to see my parents in July so T can have time in his Abuela's garden


6.  Getting to shoot another wedding... this time "for real"!

Primele Tablouri!

          Si intr-o  sambata  am descoperit Quillingul, cu ajutorul dragutei de Adriana, colega fiicei mele , care mi-a vorbit atat de entuziasmata de aceasta arta ca nu am rezistat. Adevarul este ca mi-au trebuit cateva luni sa ma apuc si eu cu adevarat.   Prima data m-am documentat ce si cum. Adica m-am documentat  asa cam ... hm 4 luni... Nu sunt zdravana nu??? Va rog sa ma credeti ca nu puteam sa-mi mai iau ochii din calculator. Am scos  sute de poze cu creatii quilling, de parca fugea netul.  Visam noaptea numai onduleuri de hartie.

         In fine a devenit obsesie. Apoi cu teama , am  vrut sa incerc si eu.... dar acum vine problema... cu ce??

Adica cu ce sufletul meu sa invart  hartia?? ca nu aveam ac  de quilling  . Pai .. ia sa cautam noi ce avem prin casa, mai la indemana  si cum optiunile nu prea erau variate am ales  pe ce mi-a picat ochii  adica un ac de cusut cu gamalia mare ( nu-i spune gamalie, am un lapsus acum,  oricum intelegeti voi la ce ma refer).  Am taiat capatul  (nu eu , m-am milogit de unu , de altul) apoi l-am implantat adanc intr-un creion , cu guma, marca china. Am dat o tona de scotch( banda adeziva sa nu va ganditi  la altceva) peste  si VOILA ,  gata acul meu de quilling. Super , ce tare sunt nu?? pai da, ca daca mai cautam putin gaseam si pe net ideea.

Oricum sunt mandra de mine ca ideile mi-au venit inainte sa descopar ca de fapt altcineva le-a descoperit inaintea mea. 

Si cum spunea Radu de la Bosquito   "da-i inainte cu tupeu si ai sa vezi ca nu e greu',  i-am dat.

Mai jos vedeti tupeul, adica creatiile, de , ca la inceput..... fiti indulgenti va rog...

I felt WAY too at ease during my client meeting today.  Perhaps this is what I'm meant to do...

So excited to be capturing this couple's wedding... they're cute and laid back (my kind of couple!).

Fitness Thursday # 7

Sick Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and working again Wednesday and today leaving me TIRED.... so it's a big FAIL for this week.  I'll try to redeem myself over the weekend.

(and I just realized it's Wednesday at 9:28 at night.... you really do lose track of time when you're off work since Feb 5th!)

Today I am grateful for:

• roses everywhere :)
• remembering how to teach
• unexpected time with my family
• haircuts
• S'MORE goldfish... delicious
• booked trip to Florida in July!
• nap time... how I'll miss it!

I have a HUGE fan of my art work...

well, he's not huge... more like three feet tall but he got all excited and was in awe when he saw the following art work:

T:  (whispered)  BEAUTIFUL!
T:  Mommy! You made that!
T:  (whispered) It's beautiful, Mommy! Good job!

3 down for the count...

C, T and I are not having the best of days today.  I started feeling crappy before lunch yesterday and I haven't eaten anything since 9:30am yesterday aside from a few goldfish.  C woke up at 5:30 this morning head first in the toilet and has been making frequent trips since.  C took T to daycare this morning so that we could crash on the couch for the day.... only to get a call from daycare a few hours later that little T's butt exploded.  So, here we are... all at home and pooped... literally and figuratively.  C and T are napping and I'm thinking about joining them shortly.

Date Night #5... Better late than never!

C and I had a crappy Friday so we decided to have date night tonight-- and I'm SO glad we did.  My original plan for date night was to have a "love" Scrabble game (where you can only use words dealing with love, inside jokes, etc) and drink some wine.  At the last minute today we decided to add pie making to the list of activities since we found a recipe we wanted to try out.  Check out our date night:

C's pies had strawberry preserves and chocolate chips...

Bake at 375 for 15 minutes...

Meanwhile we started our Scrabble game with some wine...

Half time.... I must say that C's pies turned out better.... somehow my Fluff disappeared in baking...

So "love" Scrabble turned out to be harder than we thought... we made a new rule that we could put the word down if we justified it.  For instance "dog:  'cause you're my dog yo and you always got my back" and "port: because you're the port I'll always come home to..."  
We got creative ;)  I won by 100+ points.
